Purpose
Managing Product Delivery (MP) process is how the Team Manager views the project. It defines how the work is managed and controlled between the Project Manager and the Team Manager using formal communication documents for accepting, executing and delivering the products.
MP covers –
- Team manager briefing the team on the authorized WP including product description, time, effort and cost
- Delivery of planned products within tolerance
- Accurate progress report from the Team Manager to the Project Manager
Process flow
Once a WP is authorized, a team manager follows the steps listed below in a series of iterative dives to incrementally create and deliver the project product on time and within tolerances:
- Analyse – accept and analyse the WP
- Design – a team plan is designed to show how the products will be developed
- Build – execute the plan to develop the products
- Test – the products are tested using Checkpoint Reports
- Demonstrate – the final products are demonstrated against the quality criteria. Quality Reports are updated.
- Deploy – the completed WP is delivered to the Project Manager. Config Items record is updated.
While the Project Delivery Team work in dives to execute the WP, the Project Manager is responsible for reviewing the product, reviewing the stage until it is ready for completion as per the Business Case and ultimately go in the next phase, which is managing the Stage Boundary.
